Chapter 20.

It was only 6:30. Riku was beginning to get nervous. Why? They were only hanging out. He hopped in the shower.

Standing naked in front of his mirror. Now 6:45. He’d be here soon. He dried his hair and combed it until it was perfect. He pulled on a fresh pair of underwear and his black jeans. A blue t-shirt and white socks were the final garments added to his outfit. His baggy jeans trailed against the ground in his room as he paced. He scurried around tidying up. He didn’t want Sora to think he was a complete slob.
    Finally after pacing some more and putting on aftershave, he texted Sora. 6:55.

Hey, Sor when you get here just come in round the back through the patio doors x

He sent it and made one last final check of his room. He made his way to the kitchen, flopping down on one of the sofas and putting his iPod on. He turned it to Killswitch Engage and put it up full volume. He closed his eyes and leant his head back against the arm rest listening to “Reject Yourself.”

Okay 6:30. Sora paced his room having no idea what to do for 30 minutes. He tried cleaning up but found that, even when he was this nervous, he couldn’t do it. He lay on his bed for a moment staring at the ceiling, wondering of Riku’s intentions. Was this just two friends hanging out or was this something more to him? Hell they were just hanging out but it seemed like more than that to Sora. He wondered how Riku felt about him. Was he gay? There was nothing to suggest that he wasn’t.
Axel walked into his room, topless scaring him.

“Axe! What the hell?” Sora breathed. “You scared the crap outta me!”

He laughed before replying.

“Sorry. We’re having band practise tonight and Roxas said my symbols and snare were under his bed.”

He lifted up the covers over the side of Roxas’s bed and pulled out two large symbols and a snare drum.

“You wanna come down?” Axel asked. “Practise is at my house this week because my Dad’s gone for the week. Plus Namine and Kairi are already there with Roxas.”

“Nah Sorry Axe.” He smiled all through the course of his next sentence. “Me and Riku are hanging out tonight.”

Axel raised an eyebrow and gave a knowing smile before exiting the room. Sora blushed and smiled. He looked at the clock. 6:50. He hauled himself up from the bed. In the bathroom, Sora checked his teeth, hair and eye make-up in the mirror. Perfect.
  Returning to his room, he lifted his phone.

He opened it to a message telling him to come around the back way. He jumped and ran down the stairs.

“Dad, I’m going to Riku’s!” Sora shouted on his way out the door.

“Alright just be back by--”

His last word was cut off when Sora closed the door. He made his way across the lawn, over the street and around the side of Riku’s house. He opened and closed the gate behind him. He saw Riku’s long back garden and the soccer nets at the other end. It was shaded by towering trees. He walked across the patio, dodging the tables and chairs and walked through the patio doors that had been flung wide open.

Riku was lying flat out on his back on the sofa Demyx and Roxas had shared the last time he had been here. He looked right and saw the spotless kitchen. Riku looked so…gorgeous. The sun was shining on him directly, giving a luminous glow to both his hair and skin. The blue top he was wearing had pulled up slightly when he lay down. It showed the top of a pair of white boxers, the thin line of silver hair that Sora really wanted to touch and the bottom of his perfectly sculpted abs. He saw Riku had his eyes closed and was listening to a PINK iPod.

Sora giggled silently. He didn’t know how loud Riku’s iPod was turned up. He creeped over and quickly yanked out on of his ear phones and whispered in his ear,

“You’re such a poof Ri.” He made sure his tongue lightly touched his ear as he spoke.

Riku sat bolt upright, panting slightly.

“Sora!” Riku looked at him with wide eyes. “You- really s-scared me.”

Scared wasn’t the word he had intended to use, but he changed his mind last minute. It had made him so hot. The way he licked his ear and whispered like that.

“And I am not a poof! Why would I be a poof again?”

“You listening to a pink iPod Ri.” Sora laughed and pointed to the pink device resting on Riku’s chest.

“Wha- Oh it’s Namine’s…” He said scratching the back of his head and turning it off. “Wanna come upstairs then?”

“Uh Sure.” This time it was Sora’s time to blush as he followed Riku up the stairs to his room.

“Okay one more time!” Axel shouted. “One two, one two three four!”

They began performing their cover of “The Guillotine” by escape the fate. It went well till one of Axel’s drum sticks went flying and hit the garage door half way through the solo.

“Okay break!” He shouted, searching through the clutter of his garage to retrieve the flying stick.

“Where did you say Sora was Axel?” Kairi asked him, is ass sticking out from the pile of junk.

“At Riku’s!”

“Ooooooooooooh!” Kairi screeched. “Are they together?”

“What? My brother isn’t gay Kairi,” Namine looked at her almost laughing.

“Nam?”

“AGH!” Namine began laughing. “Okay so he might be but he doesn’t know it yet!”

The five of them all began laughing.

“We could go back to your’s Nam and see what they’re up to?” Kairi asked smiled devilishly.

“I guess great minds really do think alike.” She also smiled, rising to her feet.

“See you guys later!”

Kairi and Namine left the garage and headed back to Namine’s house.

“Riku! You got flour all over my best shirt!” Sora whined.

He and Riku, getting bored watching T.V, had decided to make muffins. They started off seriously but by the time the muffins were in the oven, both boys were covered in flour and muffin mixture.

“Why did you wear your best shirt then!” Riku laughed, getting mixture out of his previously clean hair.

“I just did….” Sora trailed off.

Riku came up close to him. He began to sweat slightly when Riku brushed a bit of stray hair out of his eye. He almost moaned when Riku put his hand on his face and rubbed his thumb across it.

“Sora? You’re blushing?”

“What? No it’s-- uh-- really warm because of the over y’know.” Sora covered up when he realised Riku had just been wiping flour off his cheek.

Riku turned away from him and smiled, pretending to check the oven. He knew now that Sora liked him. It made him feel oddly satisfied inside. He realised that he should probably be really creeped out by this. He wasn’t and he didn’t care. He had admitted his attraction to Sora to himself and thought nothing of it. Guys his age all probably felt like this one time or another.

He lifted the muffins out of the oven and put one straight into his mouth. Only to spit it onto the counter again.

“Ewwe Ri. That was gross.” Sora looked at him.

“HOT!”

“I know I am Riku! You don’t have to point it out!” Sora laughed and then his face dropped when Riku winked at him.

“Geez Sora take a joke!” He said laughing at the other boys reaction.

“I’d probably better go Ri, it’s almost 9.” Sora said glancing at the clock.

“What? 9? It’s a Friday night! Come on watch a movie with me!”

“Uh…Okay then.”

They walked up the stairs. Lying down on Riku’s bed, Sora felt comfortable and uncomfortable at the same time. It was a comfy bed but it was his crush’s bed! Oh!

Riku came down and lay beside him, lifting the remote. He pressed play and “The Fast And The Furious,” came on.

Throughout the movie, Sora jumped, squeaked and drooled slightly at Vin Diesel. Afterwards he sat up and looked at Riku. Riku sat up too.

“That was awesome!”

“Yeah I Know!”

“Vin Diesel is so hot!”

“…Right.”

“What?” Sora asked.

“Nothing, I just don’t see it.” He laughed.

“Well he is!”

“Not.”

“Is!”

“Not!”

Riku and Sora’s faces were inches apart.

“Hey you guys! Isn’t this cosy!” Kairi shouted. She had just opened the door to misinterpret the closeness of the boys.

“Ahh!” Riku fell backwards off the bed.

“Kairi! I take it you’re staying here?” Sora glanced at her. She was wearing her PJ’s.

“Yeah! Hope you’re enjoying yourself Sora!” She winked before closing the door and running back to Namine’s room giggling.

Riku put on “2 Fast 2 Furious” this time. They watched in silence for the first five minutes. Riku then turned the volume down slightly and turned to Sora.

“What did she mean?”

“What?” Sora asked.

“She said enjoying funny and then she winked.”

“I dunno? You know girls are weird.”

They both lay down again and continued watching.

The credits rolled on Riku’s T.V. The dim light illuminated the two sleeping boys. The silver haired boy shifted and put his arm over the brunette. The brunette snuggled up to the taller boy. They slept on, not realising that the brunette should have been home 3 hours earlier.
